Everyone asks, "Where are you going?"

Well, here's a partial itinerary. We figure small towns that support creativity will offer locally grown food, reflect progressive politics, and be welcoming to lesbians in RVs. Our kind of places.

We're a little late, but we wanted to add a note about Lily's first two trips with us. At the top you see us at Hoodsport on July 14th at the end of our first weekend out after picking up Lilypad at Roy Robinson's in Marysville where we bought her. The group is RVing Women and the ceremony is the Blessing of Newly Acquired Rigs. That's Lilypad, behind us on the right, being blessed by all those women.

Below is a picture taken a few weeks later. That's granddaughter Spring and Janna both holding Flat Stanleys at Mt St Helens. The Flat Stanley twins are accompanying us on the trip, compliments of Xan and Olivia, our Vashon grandkids. You will be seeing the Stanleys in lots of pictures on the trip. We did both Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens that weekend, and had a great time with Spring who was out from Kentucky before heading off to college in South Carolina. Good weather, lovely views, lots of learning, and Lilypad exceeded all our expectations in many ways. Spring did a lot of the driving and there was quite a hilarious "dumping' on the way home as Spring and Janna learned together how to do it.

Lilypad is getting loaded and ready to go. Nikki and Mary helped us out by taking over a load of stuff today.

Getting Ready

Still in Friday Harbor and here is a sunset from Illg Beach....sometimes we wonder why it is we are thinking of leaving. But most of the time we are pretty excited. We leave in 15 days (but who's counting?) We plan to be gone about a year, and plan to see a lot of the USA and some of Canada too. We have a pretty tight schedule for the first month, then plan to winter in the southeast and move north again in the spring.
